2. Our Approach to Privacy

Community, mentorship, and matchmaking are all personal. We treat your information with care, discretion, and confidentiality, whatever combination of our services you use.

We only collect and use data that is necessary to understand you and to support the friendships, mentorship, events, and/or introductions you've told us matter to you.

Important We do not operate like dating apps, and your data is never used for mass matching, public browsing, or algorithmic exposure.

3. What Personal Data We Collect

Information you provide

Sensitive / special category data

Some information (e.g. relating to ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or other personal values, beliefs, and lifestyle preferences) may be considered special category data under UK GDPR. We only process this data with your explicit consent, where it is necessary to provide the services you've asked for, and with appropriate safeguards in place.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

Your data is used only for the purposes you've told us matter to you, and for the purpose of providing a personalised community, mentorship, events, and/or matchmaking service.

5. AI-Assisted Analysis, Transcription & Human Oversight

We may use secure, private AI-assisted tools to support analysing questionnaire responses, identifying compatibility and community-matching patterns, improving matching insight, and assisting with internal meeting notes.

Where consultations or meetings are transcribed, AI-assisted transcription tools may be used to help create accurate summaries, notes, and follow-up actions. These recordings and transcripts are used solely for internal service delivery and are treated confidentially.

Where AI-assisted transcription, note-taking, or analysis tools are used, Sparked Connection takes reasonable steps to ensure that such providers operate appropriate security, confidentiality, and data protection measures consistent with UK GDPR requirements. Where required by law, appropriate data processing agreements will be maintained with third-party providers.

Human-first approach All decisions are reviewed by a human matchmaker. No decisions are made solely by automated means. AI supports — it does not replace — human judgement.

We aim to use technology thoughtfully, carefully, and only where it enhances the quality, accuracy, and personal nature of our matchmaking service.

6. Lawful Basis for Processing

We rely on the following legal bases:

You may withdraw consent at any time where applicable.

7. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or distribute your data.

Within our community

Where you've told us you're interested in friendship, mentorship, and/or events, we may make limited profile details — such as your first name, profession, and photo — visible to other vetted members within the private member network, for the purposes of friendship, mentorship, and events.

With potential matches

Where you've told us you're open to introductions, we may separately share limited profile information, such as first name or initial, general location, profession or lifestyle overview, selected photographs, and high-level preferences.

Important We only share information necessary to assess mutual interest. Identifiable details (e.g. contact information) are only shared after both parties agree to proceed. Photographs or detailed profiles are shared only with your explicit consent.

By joining the service, you acknowledge that limited profile information may be shared with other members and/or carefully selected potential matches, depending on the services you've told us you're interested in. You may withdraw your consent to participate in community sharing or introductions at any time.

Marketing & event photography

Where you've separately opted in, we may send you marketing communications about events and community updates, and use photographs or video taken at events for marketing purposes (e.g. social media, website, newsletters). Both of these are optional, and you may withdraw your consent at any time.

With service providers

We may use trusted third parties for website hosting, payment processing, communication tools, and secure data handling. All providers are subject to data protection agreements.
